Bandarawela

Easily accessible from Sri Lanka's little England, Nuwara Eliya, Bandarawela was the alternate sanctuary of many British Colonials. The Dowa Temple, standing next to a crystal clear stream, features an interesting four-metre high rock carving of the Lord Buddha, etched in to the rocky surface below the road. The temple also features some interesting Buddhist art work.
